About our Guest Speaker
Pastor Don Meadows was raised in a rural United Methodist Church and was baptized in that church. He was saved at age 12 years through a Billy Graham TV special, and attended church regularly with his mother.
He married his high school sweetheart, Patti, in 1972, and they were asked to be youth leaders at his church. They were very involved with both youth group and church activities. They later moved to the United Methodist Church in town, and were youth leaders there also.
During this time period, the Meadows received an invitation to attend a local home Bible Study with people from different denominations attending. Here, they developed a more intimate fellowship with God and His Word, and were filled with the Holy Spirit.
At age 25, Pastor Don & Patti answered the “call” and moved to Tulsa, OK to attend Rhema Bible Training Center. After ministry training, they returned to their hometown and founded a Spirit-filled Word Church, Faith Alive Fellowship, where they continue to serve since 1979. Don & Patti do this work of ministry together, working with all ages.
Patti oversaw a youth outreach named Youth W.A.V. (With a Vision) for a number of years. This outreach brought together youth groups of “like precious faith” every 6 weeks for devotions, fun activities, music and getting to know each other. She got to know area youth leaders, & involved them also.
Also, having 6 children and lots of their friends over, youth have been a major part of their lives.
The baptism or fullness of the Holy Spirit in their lives has deepened their walk and desire for God and helped them to be aware of the daily leading of the Holy Spirit. That leading has brought them into relationship with people ministering in Methodist churches, past acquaintances & new ones.
The Holy Spirit is not a respecter of persons, but a respecter of faith, without which it is impossible to please God (Heb 11:6)
The Meadows have been blessed to see youth from their former youth groups now involved in ministry as Pastors, Youth Leaders, and other areas of Helps Ministry in their churches.
Pastor Don presently serves as a District Director for ICFM (International Convention of Faith Ministries) based in Arlington, TX
